In effort to expand efforts of Game On! Youth Sports around the world, the IAYS names Chiranjeeb Das of India Asia/Asia Pacific Representative
Das will be formally introduced in India in May at a ceremonial visit from IAYS President and CEO, Fred Engh
 
April 13, 2007—The International Alliance for Youth Sports (IAYS) – headquartered in the United States – is pleased to announce that it has named Chiranjeeb Das of Assam, India, the Asia/Asia Pacific Representative of the IAYS.
 
Das will create and work from the International Regional Level office based in Guwahati, Assam, India, to expand the IAYS’ Game On! Youth Sports program across the Asia and Asia Pacific regions. Currently, the IAYS is working to introduce Game On! in every region of the world. Already, the program has been implemented across Africa, the Caribbean and Mexico.
 
“On behalf of the IAYS Advisory Board, we are thrilled to have Chiranjeeb Das become a Regional Representative,” said Fred Engh, founder and CEO of the IAYS. “I am confident that Mr. Das will bring the right combination of experience and dedication to the table, and will be instrumental in introducing the many benefits of Game On! Youth Sports to the Asia and Asia Pacific regions.”
 
Das will be officially designated as the Asia/Asia Pacific Representative during a special conference in May when Engh will travel to Assam along with Dr. Michael Gray, vice president of the IAYS board of directors
 
Game On! Youth Sports, the signature program of the IAYS, is a first-of-its-kind worldwide initiative that creates opportunities for children to reap the many benefits of sports such as a, healthy lifestyle and a deterrent to crime, violence, drug abuse and other anti social behaviors which so often are related to children without  positive alternatives in their leisure time   In addition Game On! by helping ALL children having the opportunity to learn the basics of sports helps these same children with the talents for sports reach for the highest level of achievement   The goal of Game On! Youth Sports is to address all issues that hinder the development of sport programs for children, such as a lack of funding, inadequate facilities, non-existent or poor equipment, transportation and appropriate programming.
Other IAYS Regional Representatives include: Clement Chileshe, African representative (Zambia); Mark Mungal, Caribbean representative (Trinidad and Tobago); Arturo Cevallos, Latin American representative (Mexico); and Maria Eleftheriou, European representative (Greece).
